More Snail Madness In A8

Snail experiment

We've been studying snails in A8 and we've got quite attached to the slimy little creatures.
We decided to be scientists and try a couple of experiments so that we could learn more about snails.
(No snails were harmed during the making of this blog!)

Marshmallow Tower

We had 15 minutes to make the tallest tower using Marshmallows and Toothpicks.

Hundertwasser's Spiral

On Wednesday we made the Hundertwasser Spirals. We used cubes to make the Spirals. It took us a long time. We worked as a team and everyone helped each other. Hundertwasser would be proud to see this cool spiral that we made. Everyone concentrated on the task. It was a cool activity to do and we may do it again using something else. Our teacher was amazed once we finished it.

Fairy Bread

On Monday A7 and A8 made Fairy bread.

The Gruffalo

Krisha went to see the character of The Gruffalo. They were going to perform on stage. This is what the Gruffalo looked like.

I went to my dads shop and my cousins came too and we saw the Gruffalo. We played games with it. 2 of my cousins were scared but i wasn't.

When I went to the museum, I went in the tree house and it was fun. Our group went in first because our adult said we can go first. Then I went into the volcano room and when I watched the TV, the volcano shook! It was fun. I wasn't scared.

The other day A5 and A6 and A7 and A8 went to the museum and we went inside the house when the ground was shaking. I said I wanted to run out of the house but it was over and I ran out of the house and then we moved on to the next thing.

The Volcano Room

On Thursday A5, 6, 7 and 8 went to the museum. We went to the volcano room. A man was talking and everything started to move. I was feeling scared but it was cool!

On Thursday we went to the museum. My favourite part was when we went inside a room where we saw a volcano. When the volcano exploded the room was shaking! I was so scared. I was about to run outside but I didn't run outside. I remembered not to run.

Talofa, Kia orana, Malo e leilei, Bula! A5, 6, 7 & 8 went to the museum. We had such a cool time learning about Pacific cultures.

Hundertwasser stories

A8 has been talking about Hundertwasser and his crazy art. We love his work and wrote stories about him.

Te Aroha

A7 has been learning a new song called Te Aroha. Here is a video of them performing the song.

Whati Whati To Hope

The children from A8 have been working really hard and learning is action song called Whati Whati To Hope. The children got a chance to perform it in front of A7.

Welcome back Allen

Allen went on a holiday to China for 6 weeks. He came back to school today.

New Fish

On Monday A7 got a new pet. They are two goldfish. One is big and one is a little one. We are still trying to think of a name for them. 

What will A7 get as a new pet?

Mrs Khan is going to get a new pet for our class. She asked the children in her class to guess what the new pet will be. Here are some of their suggestions:

At Maths time some of the children made a Magical Castle out of Straws with a Magic Wand

These are the new boys that have moved up from A1, A4 and B1.
